Identity and Branding

XYZ Architects

XYZ Architects are a fictional architect studio used as a vessel to study form, composition and the use of negative space within identity design.

The foundation of the logo is built upon the Cartesian coordinate system, where the XY-plane is horizontal and the Z-axis points upward. This three-dimensional structure is most commonly known in mathematics, physics and 3D software for designers, architects, animators and many other professions. To conceptually match this foundational element with XYZ Architects' identity, I created a sleek design portraying the incidence of light shining through a window.

The identity kit made for XYZ Architects exists out of their logo, business cards, official letter papers and envelopes, blueprint lay-outs and postal tubes to send them in. To optimally transmit the concept of the logo, it's been placed near the edge of some of the printwork to emphasize the 'light' shining through.
